Country selection

Select a country from the drop-down list to view its organisational structure in the field of food and feed safety. Each country profile provides an overview of the public institutions involved in food and feed safety in that country. Some country pages are translated into the national language(s).

Topic selection

To find out which institutions are involved in a specific topic, simply select the topic from the drop-down menu. All institutions that identify this topic as part of their area of work will appear in the search results.

Advanced search

The search results will display all entries containing the entered search term. Click on any listed entries to find out more.

Diagram of national institutions

Each profile opens with a clear, easy-to-read diagram outlining the structure of public institutions responsible for food and feed safety in the country. Institutions are represented by their acronyms. Blue boxes indicate institutions at the national or central level.

Topic filter function

The country page allows to filter topics, to display only those institutions within this country relevant to your selected area of work.

Legal foundation

Each profile includes a brief outline of the key laws or regulations that form the basis for food and feed safety in the country.

National institutions

The country profile includes a brief section for each national institution, beginning with key details such as its acronym, location, and website. It also outlines the institution's main activities and its topics related to food and feed safety.

Topics

18 pictograms are used to illustrate the institutions' areas of responsibility. Each pictogram and topic is explained here.

Regional and local levels

One section of the country profile is dedicated to institutions at the regional and local levels. 

Further institutions

Further relevant institutions in the field of food and feed safety are listed here. 

A specific section of the country profile is dedicated to the Article 36 organisations that have been designated by EU Member States to assist the European Food Safety Authority (EFSA) with its mission. A list of these organisations is available in the profile of the relevant country, where applicable.
